Review 1
Module Overview: Mass spectrometry, IR, 1D NMR, 2D NMR
Overall Difficulty: Easy
Difficulty of Assessment:
Midterms: Very Difficult
Presentation: Average
Finals: Average
Pace of Module: Too Slow
Enjoyability: 4/5
Usefulness: 4/5
Workload of Module (Average Number of hours spent per week):
To learn the content: 4 hours
To complete assignments: 1 hour

How did you find the contents (how it was delivered) and the assessments of the module?
You must go for lectures as lecture notes do not explain how to read the graphs. Once you understand how it works, the rest are just examples. The presentation was abit rushed and could just be used as individual submissions, so time is not wasted.

How was your experience with the module?
Fun module, good to take if you like NMR, light workload. But tests could be a bit tricky
Review 2
Module Overview: Mass Spectroscopy (Fragmentation pattern) Infrared Spectroscopy 1D NMR (1H/ 13C NMR; Splitting pattern, J-coupling, etc) 2D NMR (COSY, HSQC, HMBC, NOESY)
Overall Difficulty: Difficult
Difficulty of Assessment:
Midterms: Average
CA: Average
Final: Very Difficult
Pace of Module: Just Nice
Enjoyability: 5/5
Usefulness: 5/5
Workload of Module (Average Number of hours spent per week):
To learn the content: 1 hour
To complete assignments: 0.5 hour

How did you find the contents (how it was delivered) and the assessments of the module?
IR and 1D NMR were relatively simple as they were covered in lower-level organic chemistry. MS and 2D NMR were the newer topics taught in this module. Prof Ge helps to break down the notes into digestible portions. However, most of his slides only contain images with 0 words to explain what is going on. He does not do webcasts thus it is not advisable to skip lectures. Even though his lectures are easy to understand, and the workload is low, the mid-terms and exam questions are very very very difficult.

How was your experience with the module?
I thoroughly enjoyed the module as I found it useful for my future. If you are planning to do organic chemistry research in the near future, this is a recommended module.
