Review 1

Module Overview:

In this module, you will learn how the crystal structure of a material can lead to various physical properties, and predict some of them based on information such as valency. You will also learn about how crystal defects affect the mechanical strength of a material, and how to read phase diagrams. You also learn about glass formation but that's the last topic.

How did you find the assessments:

There's quite a bit of math involved but you can make your own formula sheet so there's no need to memorise. There's quite a bit of practice in the lecture slides so most of the questions you encounter would be relatively doable given enough time.

Apart from the assessments, how was your experience with this module:

Lectures do get kind of dry so start early instead of cramming. If you don't like physical chemistry you definitely shouldn't do this module.

Workload: It's definitely doable, but the way questions are phrased may surprise you.
