What advice would you give to someone considering taking this course?

Anonymous: Good to overload with CM2133, because CM2143 doesn't have a lot of content. If you're familiar with stats, you can save time by skipping the first few lectures and just reading the lecture notes. For pro forma/lab reports, ask seniors for theirs for reference, since the pro forma/lab report requirements are not very explicit, and it's generally hard to get A-/As for them. For homework, you can do 4 submissions out of 10, would suggest doing the first few homeworks instead of procrastinating to do the last few, because the first few homeworks are much easier (basic stats).

What did you enjoy or find most useful from this course?

Anonymous: The lab work, especially if you're learning how to pipette, load HPLC/GC and interpret results for the first time.

What aspects of the course did you find most challenging, and why?

Anonymous: Some parts of lab pro-formas were tedious, need a good understanding of the concepts. The CAs require some general chemistry knowledge (e.g. volatilities of substances), so cannot just rely on lecture content but need practice.

What resources did you find most helpful in helping you better understand the course material?

Anonymous: Generally not very challenging in terms of content understanding because it's taught in a descriptive way. Pro formas are kind of a time sink though, especially the 3rd one where you have to write a full lab report instead of pro forma.

What other courses do you think should be taken before or concurrently with this course?

Anonymous: Used Google to clarify the electrochem parts, since some parts are unclear and glossed over during lectures.
